GGNIMT HOTEL MANAGEMENT STUDENTS ORGANISED INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Ludhiana, September 22, 2017: An industrial visit to club Nirvana was organized for the third and semester fifth semester students of Bachelor in Management Studies(Hotel Management). There were around eighty students who paid a visit to get appraised of the requirements of the industry for professional skills they must imbibe to make a career in hospitality industry. Gurmukh Singh,human resource manager of the company received the students and took them for a round to all the departments.
In Housekeeping department, the whole laundry process was elaborated to the students. Similarly in maintenance section, they were explained how centralized maintenance is operated 24X7 in the hotel and a live demonstration was given to the students by the chief engineer.
Apart from Spice Route multi cuisine restaurant, they also went to Mystique, the pool side restaurant of the club. The students can learnt how guests are served at Dovka bar. In another section, Kona lounge, they were given an interactive session on concept of businessbar manager.
Harbans Singh, director, Club Nirvana addressed the students and appreciated them for choosing this fastest growing industry as their career option. He offered them to visit Club anytime for any kind of project and also assured them placement for the deserving candidates.
In his interaction, GurmukhSingh, human resource managermotivated them to do their best in the industry. This industry demands skill, discipline and passion to serve and the budding professionals should put their whole hearted effort for the same, he advised further.
Dr. HarpreetSingh, Principal, GGNIMT congratulated the teachers and students for their initiative and hoped that the students must have gained an insight what they need to do to enhance their practical skills. While addressing the students, Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT advised them to get more of such exposures so that they can make themselves ready to be fit for the industry. The students always learn more through interactions with serving professionals, he added.
