GGNIMT Students Host “Punjabi Tadka” Food Festival

Department of Hotel Management of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi hosted a "Punjabi Tadka" food festival showcasing various traditional Punjabi cuisines. Students from the Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology programme recreated a Punjabi ambience and presented a variety of traditional dishes.

Ludhiana, February 13, 2025: Department of Hotel Management of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi hosted a "Punjabi Tadka" food festival showcasing various traditional Punjabi cuisines. Students from the Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology programme recreated a Punjabi ambience and presented a variety of traditional dishes.

The festival was inaugurated by Anjali Agarwal from Hyatt Regency, Ludhiana, and Chef Kishan from Madras Leaf, Ludhiana. Chef Kishan commended GGNIMT for promoting authentic Punjabi dishes and encouraged the students to promote their culinary heritage.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, expressed gratitude to the guests and advised the student chefs to refine their culinary skills and explore entrepreneurship opportunities. He also praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and unique presentation of Punjabi cuisine.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT  congratulated the faculty and students of hotel management for helping students of various demographic backgrounds to understand and relish authentic Punjabi cultural experience through the food festival.

Apart from various Punjabi cuisines, Chaati vaali Lassi, Jalebi with Rabri and Gud Vali Chai attracted one and all.  The student chefs wore traditional Punjabi attires to enhance the cultural theme.

Balsehaj, Dhruv, Mohit, Mehak, and Sahil, the students of BHMCT noted that the food festival provided valuable experience to them for learning food production as per consumer needs.
At the same time, Gurkirat Singh and Jaspreet Kaur  also expressed their happiness for the positive feedback on their culinary creations.
