GGNIMTians sensitized about e Waste Management

Ludhiana, March 18, 2025: Students attended an E-Waste Management Awareness Session hosted by GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), located in Ghumar Mandi.  The event's goal, according to Prof. Satinderjeet Singh, Head of the Computer Science department, was to sensitise students about the  problem of electronic waste and its effects on the environment and human health.  This seminar created awareness about sustainable approaches and procedures for managing electronic trash and waste. The session's main speaker, Surbhi, Project Manager of  PAHAL an NGO and also co-founder of a company engaged in engineering based products emphasised on the importance of reducing the production of e-waste through prolonged life and also responsible usage of products.

 Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal GGNIMT underscored the significance of industry initiatives and governmental legislation in encouraging and inculcating the spirit of proper e-waste management in society. He promoted the usage of certified e-waste recyclers and urged students to take part in e-waste recycling programs. Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT appreciated PAHAL’s initiative in organising awareness seminars as this would lead to reduction of e waste generated in society.  Reduction of e waste and its management would be a panacea for sustainable economic growth and a healthy environment.  In addition, Professors Renu, Gurleen Kaur, Rishita, Smyle, and Bismanjit Singh attended the event.
