GHSC-10 Celebrates World Creativity and Innovation Day

The event, organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), aimed to nurture creativity, innovation and health awareness among aspiring food scientists and nutritionists.

GHSC-10 Celebrates World Creativity and Innovation Day

Chandigarh, April 25, 2025: Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, marked World Creativity and Innovation Day on April 21, with great enthusiasm. The event, organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), aimed to nurture creativity, innovation and health awareness among aspiring food scientists and nutritionists.

The day featured an engaging display of innovative and nutritious recipes crafted by students from the B.Sc. Home Science 2nd Semester. A total of 26 students participated, presenting a diverse range of creative and health-conscious dishes, including millet idli, potato pizza bites, ragi dumplings, vegetable wraps, and buckwheat dhokla.

The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, praised the efforts of the IIC and the participating students. She encouraged them to continue exploring sustainable and indigenous food solutions, emphasizing the importance of integrating millets and other nutritious ingredients into everyday diets. In her concluding remarks, Prof. Katyal underscored how such events not only showcase students' culinary skills but also reinforce the college’s commitment to promoting innovation, health and sustainability through education.
