Chandigarh, February 7, 2025: The students of M.Sc. 4th semester of the Department of Foods and Nutrition from Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, embarked on an inspiring visit to “Jhumroo Restaurant, Mohali”—a revolutionary eatery that champions the farm-to-fork concept and specializes in millet-based cuisine.

The venture is led by the renowned Chef Vikas Chawla, who is dedicated to promoting millet-based recipes. This visit was a part of the curriculum for the subject 'Entrepreneurial Ventures in the Food Industry,' providing students with practical exposure to the operational and managerial aspects of running a food business. It was an eye-opening experience that combined culinary excellence, health awareness, and entrepreneurial motivation.

During the visit, students engaged in an interactive session with the visionary Chef Vikas Chawla, who shared his journey from passion to profession and discussed the challenges and opportunities in establishing a sustainable, health-driven restaurant. The students had the opportunity to taste a variety of chef-crafted millet-based dishes, showcasing both innovation and health-consciousness.
