GILL: NRIs from Gulf Nations play decisive role in electing me president to NRI Sabha Punjab


After being elected president to NRI Sabha Punjab Jasbir Singh Gill's supporters celebrating the victory at Jalandhar on Sunday evening.


Jalandhar, January 27, 2013: The newly elected president to NRI Sabha Punjab Jasbir Singh Gill has said NRIs settled in Gulf countries had played a “decisive role” in getting him elected.

The election was held today and the results were declared this evening.

After being elected president to NRI Sabha Punjab, Gill, in an informal interaction with the media persons, said he would try to solve problems and grievances of widows of  NRIs, on priority basis.

He told that he would also try that NRIs were rendered services in a time bound manner.

Gill told that he would make all possible efforts to provide better facilities to NRIs in Punjab.

After he was declared elected his followers started dancing on beat of drums.

He was also garlanded and taken on the arms by his enthused supporters after he was declared elected president to the Sabha.

The defeated candidates Pritam Singh and Kamaljit Singh Hayre congratulated Gill after shaking hands with him.

Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.

Then Gill went to a local Gurdwara for thanksgiving and paying his obeisance there.

Gill belongs to Loharnangal village in Jalandhar district.

He had been senior vice president to the Sabha in the year 2002 and 2004.
