GKU organises fresher’s party


GKU, Talwandi Sabo on Thursday organising fresher’s party.

Talwandi Sabo, September 4, 2014: College of Agriculture (Guru Kashi University) organised the freshers party to give a warm welcome to the new students. On this occasion Dr N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor was the chief guest and Registrar Satish Goswami appeared as special guest. Dr Ajmer Singh Sidhu, Dean College of Agriculture welcomed all the guests, staff and students.
Dr Malhi stated in his encouraging address that students that they should work hard in curricular & co-curricular activities to get a respectable place in the society. There is wide scope of agriculture students in every sphere, he added.
Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, Managing Director appreciated the efforts regarding fresher’s party.  He said that agriculture students can have maximum contribution in the development of nation like the other professionals. He also assured that GKU being having highly qualified, experienced faculty and up to date infrastructure will provide sound platform for research & higher education to the students.
Dr. A.S. Sidhu, Dean Agriculture stated by putting light on the history of fresher party tha it is a best option to introduced new students to the main strata and this will also help to root out the evil of ragging.
Prof. Vijendra Singh and Prof. Resham Kaur coordinated the whole programme . Senior students performed various cultural items like Gidha, Bhangra, Choreography, songs etc. to welcome new students. A Modeling show was organised to search the hidden talent among the students. On the basis of modeling & question answer round Ramandeep Singh and Jashanjot Kaur declared as Mr. & Miss Agriculture 2014.
