GLADA demolishes eight illegal buildings/structures in village Ayali kalan/Ayali Khurd
GLADA Chief Administrator Sandeep Rishl, IAS has adopted zero tolerance to unauthorised and unplanned development with a special focus on illegal colonies. He said a special drive had also been launched to take punitive action against those who were fleecing Innocent residents under the garb of offering cheaper buildings, which lacked statutory sanction and compliance with the government norms.
Ludhiana, June 13, 2024: GLADA Chief Administrator Sandeep Rishl, IAS has adopted zero tolerance to unauthorised and unplanned development with a special focus on illegal colonies. He said a special drive had also been launched to take punitive action against those who were fleecing Innocent residents under the garb of offering cheaper buildings, which lacked statutory sanction and compliance with the government norms.
In compliance with the orders issued by Additional Chief Administrator, GLADA-cum-Competent Authority Sh. Ojasvi, IAS; the enforcement team of GLADA comprising District Town Planner (Regulatory), Sub Divisional Engineers (Regulatory), Assistant Town Planner (Regulatory) and Junior Engineer (Regulatory) along with Police force lead by Sh. Gurpreet Singh ACP (West) demolished eight illegal buildings/structures in village Ayali kalan/Ayali Khurd along right side of Sidhwan canal Ludhiana on NH-05 connecting NH95 with NH-44 today early morning.
The illegal commercial constructions/structures built on these sites were dismantled with the help of JCB Machines, which went unopposed. When developers did not stop the illegal construction work despite serving them with the notices, a special team carried out the demolition drive. In a move to check mushrooming of illegal buildings at the very initial stage GLADA is planning more such drives in upcoming weeks to demolish or to seal such unauthorised buildings.
The Chief Administrator, GLADA, appealed to the general public not to purchase such unauthorised property/plots/buildings as GLADA will not provide any facility like water supply, sewerage, electricity connections, street lights etc.
GLADA Additional Chief Administrator Ojasvi Alankar said besides undertaking a demolition campaign, GLADA had also recommended that to the concerned Tehsildars for not registering Plots in these unauthorised Colonies, PSPCL for not issuing electricity connections to these unauthorised colonies besides filing FIRs against these violators in Ludhiana district.
