GLADA removes encroachments from over 300 Acres of land in Sekhowal, Salempur, Sailkiana, Haider Nagar, Garhi Faijal & Garcha Villages
As per the directions of Sandeep Rishi, Chief Administrator, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) removed sown crops encroachments from over 300 Acres of land in Sekhowal, Salempur, Sailkiana, Haider Nagar, Garhi Faijal & Garcha Villages falling under Koom Kalan area in the district.
Ludhiana, July 18, 2024: As per the directions of Sandeep Rishi, Chief Administrator, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) removed sown crops encroachments from over 300 Acres of land in Sekhowal, Salempur, Sailkiana, Haider Nagar, Garhi Faijal & Garcha Villages falling under Koom Kalan area in the district.
GLADA had collected around 957 acres of land from Panchayat & Govt. of India departments on behalf of Punjab Govt. as the land was proposed for setting up a Mega Textile Park under the PM Mitra Scheme.
Ojasvi Alankar, IAS, Additional Chief Administrator, GLADA formed a Special team comprising of GLADA officials, Revenue departments & PSPCL conducted the drive along with heavy police force.
Manveer Kaur, Naib Tehsildar, Koom Kalan has been appointed as Special duty magistrate by Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana during the drive.
As per the guidance of Ankur Mahindroo, Estate Officer, GLADA, the drive conducted in two phases i.e. 28 June & 18 July. In first phase around 180 acres of land has been cleared from encroachment of sown crops etc. During the drive GLADA deployed heavy machinery comprising of 06 no. JCB machines & 07 no. tractors/trollies etc. During the drive GLADA demolished the unauthorized structures, uprooting of bore wells, engines & motors. Un authorized electricity connections were also disconnected by PSPCL department during the drive as per instruction of GLADA.
