GMSSS-35 Principal felicitates medal winners of Inter School Annual State Athletic Meet

Chandigarh, January 21, 2025: Players of Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector-35, Chandigarh, participated in the Inter School Annual State Athletic Meet 2024-25 (January 14-18) organised by Education Department Chandigarh at Sports Complex Sector 7-B, Chandigarh, under the guidance and supervision of Sports Teacher Kuldeep Mehra.
There the athletes performed brilliantly in track and field events. On Monday, on reaching the school after winning medals, school principal Nirdosh Kumari felicitated all the medal winning players by presenting medals to them. The school principal and staff members congratulated all the medalist players and sports teacher Kuldeep Mehra.
Sports Teacher Kuldeep Mehra informed that school girls Sohani and Radhika won gold and silver medals in the hammer throw event of the under-19 girls’ category. Both athletes, Sohani and Radhika, performed brilliantly once again and managed to win gold and silver medals in javelin throw as well. Sohani successfully won two gold medals in this competition. Radhika also won two silver medals.
Not only this, Himanshi Thakur also won silver medal in the 3,000 meters race and Mokshita also won bronze medal in 1,500 meters race.
On the other hand, in the boys’ under-17 category, the team of Suraj Singh, Sumit Rajput, Abhay Singh and Bhagwan Singh won the silver medal in 4x100 meters relay race. Suraj Singh and Mohit won silver and bronze medal in javelin throw event. Suraj Singh won two silver medals in this competition.
In the same under-17 category, school athlete Abhay Singh won a bronze medal in 200 meters race.
