Jalandhar, October 31, 2014: As per the guidelines of UGC under the guidance of MHRD, Guru Nanak Dev University College, Jalandhar celebrated 139th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as National Unity Day on today.
The main motive of the function is to spread the awareness of Patel’s teachings and principles of unity, safety and security.
In the presence of Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa(Principal GNDU College) poster-making and debate contests were also organised. In debate Guneet, Charanpreet, Kajal and in poster-making Nisha, Aanchal Sood, Sachin Gagneja got first, second and third positions respectively. An impressive PPT was also shown about the life and achievements of Sardar Patel.
Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa alongwith staff members and students took ‘’Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge’’. He also enlightened the audience different aspects of our freedom.
At the end, he congratulated Dr. J.K GULATI (In-charge UBS and co-ordinator Youth Welfare Activity) and Manbir Kaur for contributing their efforts for this event.
