GNDU extends final date of college admissions up to Oct 31, 2020
With a late fee of Rs.5000
Jalandhar: Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, President, Principals Association and Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar brought a news of huge respite for students seeking admissions post Covid-19 lockdown, by informing that Guru Nanak Dev University has extended the final date of college admissions up to October 31, 2020 with a late fee of Rs.5000.
Appreciating the decision taken by the University in the interest of students and higher education, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, on behalf of the entire Principals’ Association applauded the decision of Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University. Dr. Samra added that the extended date of admissions is a golden opportunity for students who could not get admission in the next semester due to Covid-19 and now the students must take full advantage of the extended dates.
Dr. Samra recalled that the date of admission in the third and fifth semester in colleges concluded as per the previous notification and students could only have got admission with the approval of the syndicate with a late fee of Rs.25,000.
However, at the special request put forth by the Principals’ Association, the University has now reduced the late fee to Rs.5,000 and allowed admissions to take place through colleges. He said that now the students could get admission in the third and fifth semesters of each class till October 31, 2020 with a late fee of Rs.5000.
