Ludhiana, November 8, 2012: ‘Go Green’ project was organised by Rotract Club and NSS Club of GGN Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana.
Principal Dr. Gurdev Singh, Munisha (Rotract Club In-charge), Dr. Dalip Singh (NSS In-charge), Rotract Club President Amarpal Singh and Secretary, Mnasvi Dang along with their team conducted the drive and planted over 200 plants (including flowers and trees) in the college campus.
Gursharan Singh Narula, Honorary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana said that Tree Plantation is the need of the hour. At this moment Dr. Gurdev Singh (Principal) also added that shortage of trees has led to environmental degradation so tree plantation is necessary for sustainability.
V.S. Sachdeva (President of Rotary North Ludhiana) was also present on this occasion and mentioned that Rotract being the part of rotary is working for the society and will keep working ahead.
“Club is empowering youth to realise their responsibilities towards society.” said Amarpal Singh.
“Students have taken the pledge to implant and look after 10 trees every year.” added by Dr. Dalip Singh.
