Golan Kalimi visits Department of Defence and National Security Studies, PU
Golan Kalimi, Vice President of Meprolight Ltd., a leading manufacturer of advanced electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, and self-illuminated sights for military, law enforcement, and civilian applications, visited the Department of Defence and National Security Studies, Panjab University (PU).
Chandigarh, November 20, 2024: Golan Kalimi, Vice President of Meprolight Ltd., a leading manufacturer of advanced electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, and self-illuminated sights for military, law enforcement, and civilian applications, visited the Department of Defence and National Security Studies, Panjab University (PU). He was accompanied by Shikhar Gupta, Assistant Vice President of RRP S4E Innovations Pvt Ltd which is Indian Partner for Transfer of Technology and Col Rajiv Kukkal serving Indian Army Officer.
Dr Jaskaran Singh Waraich, Chairperson of the Department welcomed him and gave a brief introduction about the achievements of the department. The visit aimed to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and discussions on the latest technological advancements in defence systems. During his visit, Kalimi engaged with students, research scholars and faculty from the department, sharing insights into the rapidly evolving field of electro-optical systems and the growing importance of advanced technology in modern defence and security operations. The interaction provided students with an invaluable opportunity to learn from an industry leader and explore potential career paths in defence technology and innovation.
Following his engagement with students, Kalimi also met with PU Vice Chancellor Professor Renu Vig. The meeting focused on strengthening ties between Meprolight Ltd. and the University, discussing potential collaboration opportunities in research, development, and training programs in the defence and technology sectors.
Kalimi expressed his enthusiasm for fostering future partnerships and emphasised the importance of academic-industry collaboration in driving innovation and supporting the next generation of defence experts.
