Ludhiana, November 8, 2018: During the special executive meeting of OPA, it was discussed that if any member is facing the issue to non/delayed payment from the clients, he can submit his application in writing, OPA will try to solve the issue immediately. On the regular price increase of Paper, Ink and other raw material, it was discussed to look in the possibilities of bulk purchase direct from the manufacturing. It was observed that in this way all the members can save at least 25% on its annual purchases of paper and other raw material. Prof. Kamal Chopra suggested that we have to form a group of likeminded members who are interested in such a project, he added that the similar king of project is running for the last more than 45 years at Pune Press Owners Association, Pune. Prof. Kamal Chopra also announced that OPA is making rapid progress on forming Common Facility Centre under the Printing & Packaging Cluster Project at Ludhiana.
Prof. Kamal Chopra suggested that while calculating the cost consideration must be given to annual increase of salaries of the staff and regular increase of fuel prices. He said to produce at competitive price is our duty, but at the same time selling lower than the cost is our insanity. To remain in competition we must learn how to reduce the cost of production instead of indulging ourselves in unhealthy competition and selling below the cost.
Lucky draw was held to decide the winner of Gold Coin from amongst the members who attended the meeting today. After the draw Mr. Arjun Pandit was declared as the winner and Gold Coin was presented to him jointly by Mr. Hans Raj Chopra, Finance Secretary and Prof. Kamal Chopra, General Secretary of OPA.
