Ludhiana, December 22, 2014: GGN Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ludhiana organised a seminar on “Usage of creativity and innovation in Technology for Good Governance” to commemorate Good Governance Day here today.
Introducing the theme, Principal Dr.P.S Khattra highlighted the importance of good governance and its benefits to society. He exhorted that quality of governance is judged by the parameters of transparency, equality and speed of operations. He further said that good governance should be considered as the right of citizens and not an obligation on them, according to an information available with cityairnews.com .Prof.Parvinder Singh, Head, Department of Business Management delivered a presentation to highlight how the innovations in technology were delivering breakthrough benefits to the society. He further elaborated that the web portals, mobile apps and other innovations were empowering the citizens to get their work done without delays, influence and corruption.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Co-ordinator, GGNIMT traced the changes that have happened in the last decade and how they have placed the power in the hands of the citizens. He however emphasized that though the change is evident but due to the technical glitches, infrastructure gaps and lack of sincerity on the part of stakeholders, the true impact of change is not being passed on to the citizens . He advised the students to enhance their awareness levels to maximize the benefits from the initiatives of good governance introduced by central, state and local government.
