Gopal Datt reveals how theatre helped him ace his comic timing while discussing bromance dramedy Amazon MX Player’s Fisaddi
Mumbai, October 29, 2024: Amazon MX Player, Amazon's free video streaming service, recently unveiled the highly awaited bromance dramedy Fisaddi. The coming-of-age series explores the dynamic between two brothers - Goldie, a ‘local legend’ living the ultimate hostel life until his younger brother Vimal, who enrols in the same college and quickly begins outclassing him, leading to unexpected twists and turns in their relationship. Boasting a talented cast, the series features Bhuvan Arora, Poojan Chhabra, Gopal Datt, Rajesh Jais, and Priyal Mahajan in pivotal roles, Fisaddi has been garnering rave reviews from both fans and critics alike.
Gopal Datt, who portrays the character of PCO Dada in the series, shares insights about his role in the show, “PCO Dada is an incredibly fascinating character. He is a super senior who has been staying at the hostel for many years and has completed numerous courses. He’s like an elder brother to everyone in college, always eager to lend a helping hand. While he can occasionally come across as a bully, his kind heart truly sets him apart. This complexity is what makes this character unique, filled with layers and shades.”
Speaking of his comic timing and where it comes from, Gopal said, “I don't know where I got this from, but I believe my extensive theatre experience has shaped this insight. In theatre, you quickly gauge the audience’s reaction, recognizing what resonates and what doesn't. This method has been invaluable to me, over a period of time, you learn to discover what the audience will love, where they will engage, and where they might not. I believe theatre deserves credit for that."
