Government airlifted five people with the help of Air Force from a remote area Bada Bhangal

The Himachal government and the  administration of Kangra district have successfully managed  to rescue four employees of  Animal Husbandry Department and one seriously injured  local person of the area trapped in Bada Bhangal with the help of the helicopter of  Air Force. All were admitted to Tanda Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Dharamshala, August 9, 2023: The Himachal government and the  administration of Kangra district have successfully managed  to rescue four employees of  Animal Husbandry Department and one seriously injured  local person of the area trapped in Bada Bhangal with the help of the helicopter of  Air Force. All were admitted to Tanda Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Informing this the Deputy Commissioner Kangra ,Dr. Nipun Jindal said that the team of Animal Husbandry Department of Kangra district, which was sent  to Bada Bhangal for the treatment of treatment of Lumpy virus in animals  informed the district administration through satellite phone about  their health problems. It was also informed via phone that a local Hukam Singh, 48, a resident of Bada Bhangal, suffered serious injuries when he slipped and fell from a temporary  pool in the village while constructing it.

Dr Jindal said ,”on the basis of this information , the state  government contacted the Air Force  immediately   and on Wednesday morning two Air Force choppers arrived  from Saharanpur left for Bada Bhangal from Gaggal Airport of Dharamsala . In this rescue operation, everyone was safely taken to Gaggal Airport and were shifted to  Tanda Medical College for treatment.”

The Deputy Commissioner further said that on receiving the information about Lumpy virus in cattle in Bada Bhangal, on August 01, the district administration sent a team of veterinary  experts consisting of Dr. Sachin Sood, Pharmacist Vinay Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar and assistant Madan Kumar via Chamba and on August 04, Treatment of the animals was started there . On the evening of August 7, the team of the Animal Husbandry Department informed the district administration through satellite phone about the deteriorating health of the team . Bara Banghal is a remote valley situated at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas.
