Chandigarh, September 23, 2024: Government Home Science College witnessed a day of pride and celebration as the Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Student Council took place with great enthusiasm. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the young leaders who pledged to serve the college with dedication during the ongoing academic session.

In the recently concluded elections, Poonam Bhardwaj was elected as the President, with Kirti Dhiman assuming the role of Vice-President, and Neelakshi taking on the responsibilities of Secretary cum Treasurer. The council also included representatives from various departments such as Class Representatives for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as incharges for NSS, NCC, sports, environment, press and literary activities, placement, and cultural affairs.

The highlight of the ceremony was the solemn oath taken by the council members, where they pledged to uphold the core values of integrity, discipline, and morality. The council committed to serving the institution and their fellow students with sincerity and dedication. The ceremony concluded with a sense of responsibility and motivation as the new council embarked on their leadership journey, determined to make a positive impact on the institution and its student community. Furthermore, Kesar Cool Milk as refreshment, during investiture ceremony, was sponsored by Harshpreet Singh, Proprietor, Amul.

Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, congratulated the newly elected council members and shared her insights on leadership. She emphasized the qualities of a good leader, highlighting the importance of humility, responsibility, and the ability to inspire others.
