Government is committed to upgrading infrastructure of industrial focal points: Sakshi Sawhney
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Monday reviewed the progress of various development projects in the Focal Points of district.
Ludhiana, March 11, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Monday reviewed the progress of various development projects in the Focal Points of district.
During a meeting with different departments including Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation (PSIEC), industries, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL), Punjab State Power Corporation Limited etc, Sawhney stressed that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is specially focused on providing state of the art infrastructure in all Focal Points and ensuring beautification of these areas. She informed that concrete roads worth Rs 20 crore are being constructed in Focal Point phases 8 and 5, and 75% of the work has already been completed. She also emphasized that all civic amenities including parks, roads, parking, greenery, and CCTVs would be ensured in all Focal Points.
The Deputy Commissioner also spoke about the need for better coordination between departments to resolve developmental bottlenecks when PSIEC reported an issue related to sewerage work, which needs to be resolved by MCL before construction of the road. She reiterated that the Punjab government is making sincere efforts towards the development of Focal Points and urged officials to discharge their duties with full sincerity and diligence.
Sawhney encouraged department officials to hold discussions with stakeholders and prepare a detailed project report for each Focal Point to effectively plan and complete development works timely. This would ensure the facelift of these areas, benefiting industrialists, workers, and others, she added.
