Government School Students Made Aware About Career Options

Chandigarh, April 3, 2016: The Career Guidance Cell, established as an initiative of Education Minister Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema to guide students about professional education and career guidance, organised career exhibitions to herald the onset of new academic session 2016-17.
These career exhibitions were organised recently under the co-ordinator of guidance Cell and Deputy Director SCERT Mrs.Shruti Shukla in 3000 schools of state on the eve of parents-teacher meetings during declaration of annual results. The exhibitions were witness to an overwhelming response.
Disclosing this, a spokesman of the Education Department said that the career exhibitions organised in 3000 schools saw information being displayed and disseminated about various career oriented courses besides multiple welfare schemes of the state government. In the course of these exhibitions, career counselling and guidance counsellors of all districts, cluster guidance counsellors and career guiding teachers of concerned schools interacted with parents and students and provided valuable advice regarding various courses as per aptitude of the student.
The spokesman also divulged that encouraged by the grand success of the programme , the department has decided to organise such career oriented programmes and seminars in future also. In this special endeavour, parents were also made aware about career websites being launched for welfare of students.
