GOVERNMENT SENIOR SECONDARY MODEL SCHOOL IN PAU TURNS “SMART” IN
CHIEF MINISTER CAPT AMARINDER SINGH TO INAUGURATE THE SCHOOL ON AUGUST 14 Ludhiana, August 11: With an aim to uplift the standard of education in government run schools, the Punjab government has started a “Smart School” project, under which the Government Senior Secondary Model School, located in Punjab Agricultural University campus, here, has been chosen to be the first government smart school of Ludhiana district. This school would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on August 14, 2018. Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal informed that under the Smart School Project, funds amounting to around Rs 50 lakh have been spent on this school. He informed that eight rooms have been specially prepared and each room would have projector facility along with other aids. He stated that students from class sixth to tenth would be imparted education in these rooms. The DC said that four new toilets have also been constructed while the existing ones have been repaired. He said that for developing good educational atmosphere in the school, landscaping has been done in some parts and colour coding is being done in the entire school. School Principal Mr Sanjeev Thapar informed that all arrangements for this smart school have been completed and Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would inaugurate it on the evening of August 14, 2018. Punjab Education Minister Mr OP Soni, Cabinet Ministers, MLA’s and other prominent personalities would also accompany the CM on August 14, 2018.
