Government will take all possible steps for peace: Amit Shah

New Delhi, 25 June (HS): Manipur Chief Minister N Viren Singh met union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday and apprised him about the situation in the violence-hit state. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah assured the Chief Minister that the central government would make every effort to maintain peace in the state.
After meeting the Home Minister, Chief Minister Viren Singh tweeted that the violence in Manipur has been brought under control to a great extent by the efforts of the Central and State Governments last week under the supervision of Home Minister Amit Shah. Also, it is worth noting that after June 13, no one has died due to violence in the state.
He informed that the union Home Minister has assured that the Central Government will take all possible steps to maintain peace in Manipur. Besides this, Amit Shah has also sought cooperation from each and every stakeholders in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the state.
During the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Lishemba, Assembly Speaker Tha. Satyabrata Singh and BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra were also present.
