Governor Banwari Lal Purohit launches cow protection awareness campaign, dedicates Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham Part-II

Ludhiana, October 2, 2021: Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit on Saturday launched a cow protection awareness campaign besides inaugurated Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham Part-II at Panj Peer road, Hambran.
Accompanied by Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Surinder Dawar, Sanjay Talwar, Kuldeep Singh Vaid, Chief Secretary Punjab Anirudh Tiwari, Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Chairman Sachin Sharma, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit said that cow is sacred for all of us and is an integral part of India's culture. He said that the people worship the cows and social reformer Vinoba Bhave ran a movement to protect the Cow.
He said that the cow protection awareness campaign would be effectively implemented in each district of the state and people would be encouraged to adopt a cow in the Gaushalas.
He also emphasized the need of more cowsheds to protect the cow and the shed must be adequately equipped with electricity, fodder, drinking water and medical team facility for the animals.
Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Chairman Sachin Sharma thanked the Punjab Governor for inaugurating the Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham Part-II and assured him that the commission is making strenuous efforts to protect the cows. He said that the Commission has also recently written to President of India to declare Cow as national animal.
Mahant Sampoorna Nand Bharmchaari Ji and Swami Devrat Ji Maharaj also addressed the gathering and detailed about the steps being taken by Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham in protection of the cows.
Later, the Governor Banwarilal Purohit along with Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar also visited Govind Gau Dham.
Prominent among present on the occasion included President Sri Dandi Swami Gaushala Dham Avinash Gupta, Trustee Ramesh Chander Garg, Dr Deepak Ghai and others.
