Govt. College for Girls, Ludhiana awarded Research Grant of Rs.58 Lac by DST
The Post Graduate Department of Botany of GCG, Ludhiana has been awarded research grant of Rs. 58,50,000/- by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India under CURIE Programme for 3 years.
Ludhiana, April 22, 2022: The Post Graduate Department of Botany of GCG, Ludhiana has been awarded research grant of Rs. 58,50,000/- by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India under CURIE Programme for 3 years. Principal of the college Mrs. Suman Lata informed that GCG, Ludhiana is the only Government College in the North India selected for financial support under the CURIE programme. The project will focus on accessing the Air, Water and Soil Pollution levels in different parts of Ludhiana and the adjoining areas and propose sustainable solutions to mitigate the harmful effects of pollution. This grant will also strengthen the Post Graduate Teaching and Research in the Department, which is successfully running M.Sc. (Botany) course.
Dr. Tarunpreet Singh Thind and Ms. Ramanjit Bhatti from the department will be the Nodal and Co-nodal officers, respectively, for the implementation of the CURIE programme in the college.
