Graduation Ceremony for 1st Batch of DGFT & FIEO Certification Program on Exports held at Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 11, 2022: The Graduation Ceremony for the First batch of Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) & Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) “Certification Program on Exports” was organized today at the Office of Additional DGFT Ludhiana. 
S C Ralhan (Past President, FIEO & Managing Director, Sri Tools Industries) along with Utpal Kumar Acharya (Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana) joined the Graduation Ceremony of the first batch as Chief Guests. Certificates were distributed to around 30 participants, who attended the first batch of this month-long course. Along with the Graduation Ceremony, the 2nd Batch of this DGFT & FIEO Certification program has also been launched with close to 30 participants have enrolled for the batch II.

While interacting with the participants during the ceremony, Utpal Kumar Acharya, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana said that, “This is a "First of its Kind" initiative taken all across the Country with an objective to hand hold and spread awareness among aspiring entrepreneurs, Start Ups and seasoned exporters about various facets involved in the overall exports processes and the support offered by various Government and other agencies to promote exports. Such courses are being conducted free of cost through the DGFT Offices under the Government of India's Niryat Bandhu Scheme &  I am pleased to share with you that DGFT Ludhiana Office was the first in India to take a lead and start this informative course in association with FIEO at Ludhiana. We have received an overwhelming response from the participants who completed the first batch”.

He further added, “Today the second batch of this course has also started,  this Certification course program will continue for next few months and every month, we will start with a new batch, after the completion of previous batch. Entrepreneurs, Start-Ups, professionals, students who wish to gain knowledge about exports business may contact FIEO Ludhiana Chapter office for their enrolment in this program. We are starting a similar Certification program at Amritsar in association with FIEO”.

While addressing participants during the ceremony, S C Ralhan, Past President, FIEO said that, “Exports plays a very vital role in economic growth of a country, being one of the fundamental drivers of growth, it offers individuals and companies to explore & serve many more markets for their goods and services and also offers handsome profits. Every country offers special incentives to its exporters, so as to increase the country's exports share to become an important player in the Global Supply Chain. Exports also lead to employment generation through increased industrialization needed to meet the increasing demand of global consumers. The Government of India is also focusing on increasing India’s share in global value chain and have taken few initiative by introducing various new schemes such as, One District One Product (ODOP), Product Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes and many more to be introduced in coming times,  which may act as game changer for Indian exports. I personally appreciate this DGFT’s Export Program initiative, as this will not only spread awareness about various support and schemes offered by Government of India, it will also help in more and more people opting for exploring export businesses , contributing more toward India’s economic growth and by creating more and more employments”.
