Grand celebration of the internationally renowned and vibrant Fashion Show Sukriti ’25 – The Creative Fashion Spectacle at KMV

Jalandhar, March 23, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) hosted the internationally renowned grand and vibrant Sukriti ’25- the creative fashion spectacle.
Dedicated to the glorious 140-year legacy of the institution, this event featured costumes and accessories designed by KMVites. These creations were presented on the ramp in six thematic rounds, including Bharat Ki Kahani: Fashion Story – From Heritage to Modernity, Regal Rajasthan: Redefining the Tale, Incredible Artistry: Bloom Extraordinaire, The Young Squad Style, Boho Banjara Swag and Banarasi Weaving: A Tribute to Our Nation’s Heritage.
The event was a testament to the students’ relentless hard work and creative brilliance. KMV has always been at the forefront of nurturing skilled and self-reliant students, and Sukriti ’25 was a prime example of this commitment. It is noteworthy that this highly anticipated fashion show, held annually, has earned a distinguished reputation across North India. Once again this year, the emerging designers of KMV received immense appreciation for their innovative, aesthetically appealing and beautifully crafted outfits. These stunning creations were confidently and skillfully showcased by the students, who took on the roles of models. The magnificent artistic presentation of designers and models received widespread admiration from the audience. The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed guests, including Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Neerja Chander Mohan, Dr. Satpal Gupta, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Sushila Bhagat, Suresh Seth, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Vani Vij, Deepak Bali, Advisor, Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board, Neelam Mahay (PCS), K.D. Bhandari, Karamjit Chaudhary, Former DPI, Major General G.G. Dwivedi, Y.K. Sood and Surinder Seth among others added to the grandeur of the occasion.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her address emphasised that Sukriti ’25 is not just a platform for fashion, glamour and modelling but also a stage for the students, who are being trained at KMV to develop their personality, talent and confidence. She further maintained that the education at KMV focuses on providing skill-based progressive education thus, making the students self-reliant and self-confident. Congratulating the parents of the students, she expressed pride in their daughters for mastering various aspects of the fashion world. Prof. Dwivedi also extended her best wishes to all participating designers and models, acknowledging that the exquisite outfits displayed at the show were the result of the students’ immense hard work. Additionally, she commended the efforts of PG Department of Fashion Designing, PG Department of Cosmetology, P.G. Department of Performing Arts, P.G. Department of Fine Arts, PG Department of English and other supporting departments for their invaluable contributions to the event’s success. The academicians and luminaries watching the live telecast of the show from 12 countries worldwide highly appreciated KMV’s efforts in providing a suitable platform for the creativity of its talented students and also congratulated Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Maria and Dencho, the international collaborator of KMV from the USA congratulating Madam Principal said that KMV is a true leader and a global example of women’s creativity and talent. The event was expertly hosted by Pallav Bose. Several renowned national and international companies sponsored this mega event.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended appreciation to all the contributors who played a role in making the event a grand success. The spectacular dance performances by KMV students further enhanced the event, leaving the audience mesmerised. Dr. Deepali Luthra, Member, KMV Managing Committee and Shelja Sharma, an International Fashion Consultant were the judges for the event.
