Jalandhar, October 22, 2024: The Grandparents Day celebration, titled Saman Samroh, was organized with immense zeal and enthusiasm at DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur on Tuesday.The event was a heartwarming tribute to the invaluable role grandparents play in the lives of children, fostering deep connections across generations.

The event beheld the gracious presence of Mrs Pushpa Ahuja, grandmother of Divya Ahuja who achieved a perfect score of 100 in Class X last year. Satish Kumar Monga and and .Aruna Monga, grandparents of Tanish (UKG), also attended the event and added to its prestige. Their presence symbolised the deep rooted relationship the school holds with the families, having taught two generations of the Monga Family. Adding to the event's stature was SK Mahajan grandfather of Vinaaya (Nursery) and Retired Principal DAV College, Phillaur whose presence enriched the event further.

The event began on a traditional note with a serene Ganesh Vandana, followed by a lively welcome dance performed by the LKG students. Their performance was warmly received by the audience, setting the stage for an emotional choreography by UKG students that depicted the tender bond between grandparents and grandchildren, leaving the audience deeply moved.

Various dance performances further entertained the audience, evoking feelings of joy and nostalgia. The atmosphere was lightened with fun games in which the grandparents participated, filling the hall with laughter and cheer. The highlight of the event was a captivating Bhangra and Giddha performance by the students of Class I and II, who danced to the beats of Punjabi dhol, mesmerizing everyone in attendance.

The event concluded with a delightful spread of snacks. The Guests of Honour expressed their happiness at witnessing the strong bonds between grandparents and grandchildren, and they encouraged the children to always show respect and love to their elders. Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir thanked the distinguished guests and the audience for making the occasion special and emphasized the importance of nurturing such beautiful relationships.
