Ludhiana, December 16, 2024: Finally, the efforts of MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora have shown results because Four/Six Lane Greenfield Ludhiana-Rupnagar National Highway Project 1 has been finally revived with the possession of entire land acquired for the project. GR Infra is the contractor who is going to go ahead with the project.
According to an available information with MP Arora, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Project Director has written to the concerned construction company that possession of the entire 37.7 km project length has been acquired by pillar fixing. The NHAI Project Director has asked the construction company to commence the work on the project immediately and ensure that all necessary resources, including manpower and machinery, are mobilised at the site accordingly.
In a statement here today, Arora said he had engaged the protesting farmers with all stakeholders and official machinery to manage the possession of the entire land for paving a passage for successful completion of the project.
Arora had met the Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Jairam Gadkari and the NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav after the project was shelved for want of requisite land in June this year. During his meetings with Gadkari and Yadav he had assured to extend full cooperation in getting the land issue settled. Both Gadkari and Yadav had shown a positive response.
Then, Arora had taken up this matter with the state government and the District Administration as well. He had to hold many meetings with all the stakeholders and finally, the agitating farmers were pacified by paying them fair compensation for their lands to avoid any further delay in the construction of the highway. Arora made efforts for revival of the project because he fully understands that the road infrastructure plays a vital role in overall growth and economy of the state.
Arora said the work on Package 1 of the four to six lane Greenfield Ludhiana-Rupnagar National Highway -205K from junction with NE-5 village near to Manewal (Ludhiana) to junction with the NH-205 near Bheora village (Rupnagar), including spur to Kharar with Ludhiana Bypass under Bharatmala Pariyojana in Punjab, will be taken up on priority for its completion in the minimum possible time as the project has already been delayed. The 37.7-km-long four to six lane Greenfield Ludhiana-Rupnagar National Highway Project is one of the major projects of NHAI.
