Guest lecture on career prospects of Indian Hospitality Students in the USA

Jalandhar: GNA University organised a Guest Lecture on ‘Career Prospects of Indian Hospitality Students in the USA’. Dr. Robert J. Thompson, Chair and Assistant Professor, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, The University of South Alabama, USA, was the Resource person for the lecture. The main leitmotif of the lecture was to make the students well apprised about the career prospects of Hospitality sector in abroad.
Dr. Robert J. Thompson in his lecture gave insights on preparations to be done by the students, who aspire to work in USA. The major focus of the talk was to improvise student’s social media profile especially LinkedIn, International Test of English Proficiency, tips to approach employers and for acing in interviews.The students were very receptive to the session and asked questions, which in turn were answered by the expert.
The session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sandilyan Ramunujam Pagaldiviti; Dean, Faculty of Hospitality expressing his gratitude for apprising the aspirants about career prospects in their desirous country.
President and Pro Chancellor, GNA University, S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such talks are vital for students for better preparation and employability at an international front.
