Ludhiana, December 26, 2022: The Guest lecture on the topic “Cutaneous manifestations in malignancies and connective tissue disease” was held at Dumra Auditorium of DMCH for the faculty members and residents doctors of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital.


The guest lecture was delivered by Professor V K Sharma Professor & Head School of Medical Sciences & Research and Former HOD Dermatology in AIIMS, New Delhi. He was the alumnus of DMCH from 1973 to 1978.


Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice Principal Dr G S Wander, Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medcial Supdts. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Dr Sunil Gupta Professor & Head Department of Dermatology and other faculty members of Dermatology Department were present on the occasion. The guest lecture was also attended by prominent dermatologists of the city.


Autoimmune connective tissue disease has many cutaneous features and malignancies can also be associated with cutaneous changes. Dermatologists can play a critical role in early diagnosis of disease and their  management to improve patient’s health.

Principal DMCH, Dr Sandeep Puri welcomed the guest speaker and thanked them for giving their valuable time to DMCH.

In his lecture, Dr V K Sharma highlighted the cutaneous features that can be help to make diagnoses’ of malignancies and connective tissue before they manifest clinically. Many clinical cases and studies were also discussed by Dr Sharma during the lecture.
 

The guest lecture included a panel discussion and case based discussion which made it more interactive. It was attended by more than 150 doctors.
 

Concluding remarks were added by Dr Sunil Gupta, Professor & Head Department of Dermatology and other staff members of Department of Dermatology.
