Speakers enlightened students about musculoskeletal conditions
Jalandhar: Medical and Lab Science department of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organized a Guest Lecture on “Musculoskeletal system” for 2nd and 4th semester students of MLS department.
The session was taken up by Ms. Shilpy Jetli (Associate Professor of DAV Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Jalandhar). Ms. Nidhi Sharma (HOD, MLS Dept.) welcomed the guest speaker.
In her session she enlightened the students about musculoskeletal conditions that comprise more than 150 diagnoses that affect the loco motor system. Further she explained the conditions which are typically characterised by pain and limitations in mobility, dexterity and functional ability, reducing people’s ability to work. The most common and disabling musculoskeletal conditions are osteoarthritis, back and neck pain, fractures associated with bone fragility, injuries and systemic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Shailesh Tripathi, presented a vote of thanks to resource person. He stated that musculoskeletal system plays a vital role in providing movement to body parts. Emphasises was laid upon that every person must adopt the habit of proper exercise to maintain their muscle health.
