Guest lecture on ‘Self-Organised Organic Nanoparticles of Metalloporphyrinoids as Catalyst for Olefinic Oxidation Reactions’

Jalandhar, November 13, 2021: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar’s Mendeleev Society of P.G. Department of Chemistry organized a guest lecture on the topic ‘Self-Organised Organic Nanoparticles of Metalloporphyrinoids as Catalyst for Olefinic Oxidation Reactions’ by Dr Amit Aggarwal from Department of Natural Sciences, LaGuardia Community College of New York, New York. The eminent researcher Dr. Amit Aggarwal was formally welcomed and greeted by Principal Dr G.S. Samra.  In his welcome address worthy Principal Dr. Samra congratulated Dr. Aggarwal for pursuing such a medically applications based research and gave appreciation for efforts of Chemistry department to let students learn from such lectures. Dr. Amit Aggarwal enlightened students about development of porphyrinoids based nanomaterials to investigate their photophysical and catalytic properties. His current research work is focused on development of next generation porphyrinoid based photosensitizer for both bioimaging and photodynamic therapeutic treatment of cancers. Dr Aggarwal encouraged students to pursue research in basic sciences. The lecture was attended by the faculty members of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biosciences departments. All M.Sc. Chemistry and B.Sc. students attended the lecture. The proceedings of the guest lecture were very well coordinated by Dr. Geetanjli Kaushal. Prof. Arunjit Kaur Head PG Department of Chemistry in her formal thanks address encouraged students to get maximum benefit from such informative lectures.
