Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College to become Punjab's first college to implement 7th pay scale: Dr. S.P. Singh
While the institutions associated with higher education in Punjab are unable to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission in the face of economic crisis, Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council, Ludhiana, in a historic decision, decided to give all the benefits of the revised pay scale as per the Seventh Pay Commission to the teaching staff of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, June 30, 2023: While the institutions associated with higher education in Punjab are unable to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission in the face of economic crisis, Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council, Ludhiana, in a historic decision, decided to give all the benefits of the revised pay scale as per the Seventh Pay Commission to the teaching staff of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana. After passing a resolution, all the cases have been sent to the DPI (Colleges) today for further action. It may be mentioned here that Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College is the first college in Punjab where the staff members will get the financial benefits of the revised pay scale as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Giving more information in this regard, President of Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council, Dr. S. P. Singh (former Vice-Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar) and Honorary General Secretary Harsharan Singh Narula said that it is a golden tradition of Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council that financial benefits are provided to the staff members as per their due rights by always following the instructions issued by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Panjab University, Chandigarh and the Government of Punjab from time to time. He also mentioned that even at the beginning of the Corona period, where all the educational institutions were facing a severe economic crisis, Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council had been continuously paying salaries to all the staff members without any deduction.
On this occasion, College Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla exclaimed while Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council under the leadership of Dr. S.P. Singh and S. Harsharan Singh Narula is committed to provide quality education to the students on one hand and on the other hand, it is also making constant efforts to ensure the financial security of the staff members working under the leadership of the College Management Committee. The College Management Committee has chalked out several important plans for the multi-faceted development of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College and those schemes have also been successfully implemented.
On this occasion, President of College Unit of Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union Manjit Singh Batalvi and Secretary Dr. Bhupinder Jeet Kaur, and all the members of the teaching union expressed a heartfelt gratitude. The members of the Teaching Union of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, while praising the College Management Committee and the College Principal, welcomed the decision taken by the Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and expressed their belief that the entire staff under the leadership of the College Management Committee will continue to strive for the development of the college as it has always been.
