Ludhiana, December 1, 2018: Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was celebrated with a great devotion and religious fervour by the students, teachers and the management committee of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School, Rose Garden, Ludhiana today. The Prakash Utsav began with the Bhog of Sahej Path. Jasleen Kaur and Prabhsimran Kaur recited the Slokas of the 9th Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji, melodiously and in a very effective manner. The spiritual ambience of the devotional and soul elevating kirtan by the primary and senior secondary students swayed and immersed the holy congregation in the divine bliss. Speeches and saakhis narrated by students depicted the glimpses of the sacred life lived by the Guru, His teachings and tenets of universal brotherhood . Students from primary and middle sections recited poems on Guru ji’s life that further added to the divine atmosphere.

Dr. S.P. Singh, Honorary General Secretary of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana and former Vice-Chancellor of GNDU, Amritsar ,while speaking on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji said that Guru ji gave the message of one God, who dwells in His creation. He further added that we all should conduct our daily worldly life on the path of truth and equality shown by Guru Nanak Dev ji. Prof. Prithipal Singh Kapur , member Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council emphasized on the inspirational life of the spiritual Guru portraying His life history and teachings saying that we should believe in God and identify with Him. Principal Gunmeet Kaur in her closing address elucidated the meaning of Gurpurab and highlighted the three fundamentals of Sikhism- Nam Japo, Kirt Karo ,Vand Chhako. Keeping God in mind all the time we should earn an honest , pure and dedicated living by exercising one’s God-given abilities, talents and hard labour for the benefit and improvement of the individual, their family and society at large. The students of Senior Section recited Anand Sahib in Kirtan form mesmerizing the whole sangat. Later, the holy service of Ardas was conducted by Gursewak Singh with great devotion after which Kadah Parshad was distributed to one and all. Guru Ka Langar was served to the holy congregation by the students and staff. The whole ambience was sanctified and immersed in peace and tranquility. The divine occasion was attended by S. Kuljeet Singh Vice-President, S. Bhagwant Singh Secretary and member S. Hardip Singh , other dignitaries from managing council and revered guests.
