The girl students of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak will have to start this. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat urged this today at the Abhilasha girls hostel campus of MDU, Rohtak.

Rohtak, October 7, 2024:  Girls students will have to come forward to establish natural farming as a mission across the nation. When the daughters of the nation work for the promotion of natural farming, then an effective message of natural farming will reach the people. The girl students of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak will have to start this. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat urged this today at the Abhilasha girls hostel campus of MDU, Rohtak.

 

Addressing the program on natural farming in MDU as the chief guest, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that natural farming is the only effective solution for global warming, falling groundwater level, preventing land from becoming barren and preventing environmental erosion across the world. He shared in detail the importance of natural farming and its benefits with the people present. He also showed two short films to create awareness.

 

Acharya Devvrat said that chemical based farming is making the Indian agricultural land barren, as well as reducing the ground water level. The Governor praised the initiative of MDU, Rohtak to start a certificate program related to natural farming. He said that crops and vegetables grown through natural farming will be beneficial for better health in the entire nation. He observed natural farming in the girls’ hostel campus and planted natural vegetable seedlings along with the girl students.

 

MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, in his presidential address, said that MDU is the first university in the country to start a value based certificate program about natural farming. He said that MDU will widely promote natural farming in rural areas under community outreach. He said that Acharya Devvrat is the pioneer of this natural farming mission and with his inspiration; MDU has started this campaign related to natural farming. He announced that in future a Centre for Natural Farming will be started in MDU.

 

Dr. Sharanjit Kaur, President of Indian Rehabilitation Council, as a special guest in this program said that when mothers, sisters and daughters take a campaign in their hands, then it becomes a mass movement. She said that in the whole world and in our country, people are falling prey to serious diseases and are dying prematurely due to poisonous food. Appreciating the initiative of MDU, she said that the daughters of MDU will have to become brand ambassadors of natural farming and promote it.

 

Governor Acharya Devvrat also inaugurated the brochure of Natural Farming Certificate Course. On this occasion, certificates were given to the students who did Certificate Course in Natural Farming. Hostel Warden Rajbala Sangwan was also honored on this occasion. Shefali Pannu, promoter of Organic Chef Brand, was also honored by the Governor in this program.

 

Prof. Vinita Hooda, Coordinator of ESM Cell, gave the welcome speech. Chief Warden Girls Prof. Sapna Garg expressed gratitude. Prof. Shalini Singh and Dr. Mehak Dangi conducted the programme. Renowned industrialist Rajesh Jain, Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Mann, Registrar Prof. Gulshan Lal Taneja, Dean R & D Prof. Arun Nanda, Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Randeep Rana, Associate Dean, CDC Prof. Sumit Gill, social worker Sampooran Singh, girls' hostels wardens, YRC programme coordinator Prof. Anju Dhiman, NSS programme coordinator Dr. Savita Rathi along with the university's deans, HODs, faculty members, research scholars, students, YRC and NSS volunteers, NCC cadets and university hostel girls were present on the occasion.
