Ludhiana, September 29, 2014: The Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab has nominated Gurmeet Singh Kular as Member State Steering Committee (SSC) for "Upgradation of 1396 Government ITIs through Public Private Partnership".
The responsibilities of SSC would include guiding overall implementation and monitoring of the scheme at state Level, assessing and recommending the IDPs of IMCs for financing under the scheme of central government, authorising submission of reports to the NSC or Central Government, wherever required, reviewing & approving the training plans for the staff of SIC, coordination with the  industry/ industry partners/ industry associations at state level to solve their problems in Implementation,  and  Performing any other Specific functions as provided under the tripartite MoU, to be signed amongst the central government, state government and industry partner.

Seth Chairman Fico, Vijay Munjal of Hero Echotech, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva President Brado, Harjeet Singh Sondh Vice Chairman Fico, Satnam Singh Makkar President Dhandari Industrial Welfare Association, Rajnish Gupta Chairman, Jagatvir Singh President and Rajiv Jain General Secretary of Ludhiana Bicycle & Engineering Park, Ranjodh Singh General secretary, Auto parts Manufacturers association, Sukhdial Singh Basant President and Manjeet Singh Matharoo General secretary of Ludhiana Machine tools Manufacturers Association, Vipin Mittal chairman CAPME and Ravinder Arora Convener BJP Industrial Cell Punjab have congratulated Kular on his nomination, stating that 1396 ITIs are contributing a lot for industry but there is a need to upgrade these ITIs to facilitate the Industry.
