Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Pharmacy, and Education), Gurusar Sadhar enthusiastically celebrated Teej, the traditional Punjabi festival. Students and faculty from all three colleges came together to commemorate this annual event.

Ludhiana, September 12, 2023: Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Pharmacy, and Education), Gurusar Sadhar enthusiastically celebrated Teej, the traditional Punjabi festival. Students and faculty from all three colleges came together to commemorate this annual event. 

The festivities featured a diverse array of activities, such as traditional cooking competitions, henna artistry, rangoli design, culinary showcases, hairstyling demonstrations, and a captivating cultural quiz. These engaging events aimed to deepen the students' connection with their Punjabi heritage. A prominent highlight of the celebration was the exhibition that proudly displayed Punjabi heritage, spotlighting ancient utensils, weaponry, clothing, Jewellery, and household artefacts. This exhibition drew special attention and admiration from all attendees.  During the event, awards were presented to outstanding students. 

Mandeep received the "Queen of Teej,"Award, Komalpreet Kaur received the "Sunakhi Mutiyar"  Award, Jaspreet Kaur received the '"Dand Chambe ki Kalian"  Award, and Harpuneet Kaur received the 'Gudyan di Mailyan' Award. In the music competition, Kirandeep Kaur and Bhavna secured the first and second positions, respectively. In the photography competition, Harshmeet Kaur and Simranpreet Kaur claimed the first and second spots. The college honored the winners with prizes. Notably, an exhibition of sketches created by Angrez Singh, a B.A.I student, received special appreciation from the audience. The cultural extravaganza unfolded at the Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall, featuring soulful renditions of traditional Punjabi songs, mesmerizing dances, and a medley of captivating performances. 

The event was graced by the presence of renowned author, critic, and National Book Trust translator, Amritbir Kaur, who attended as a distinguished guest. She eloquently emphasized the paramount importance of cultural programs in schools and colleges as guardians of our cherished heritage. Amritbir Kaur expressed her deep honor at receiving an invitation to the festival from Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. 

Dr. Harpreet Singh, the College Principal, extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, underscoring the significance of cultural events in safeguarding and promoting our rich traditions. He offered a special note of appreciation to the festival's dedicated coordinator, Prof. Harpreet Kaur Tiwana, and also recognized the contributions of Prof. Vishwapreet Kaur and Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Gulati. Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Council, Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary, Mohinder Kaur Gill, Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal of the College of Pharmacy, and Dr. Pragat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College of Education. The seamless management of the stage was orchestrated by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, ensuring the event's smooth flow and success.
