Talwandi Sabo, January 22, 2014: Dr JS Dhaliwal, Chancellor of Guru Kashi University, while presiding over the meeting of the Board of Management stated that following the path shown by great Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Kashi University will be developed as a main centre of Punjabi language and literature studies. He said that in order to boost this sacred land of ‘Damdami Bir’ on scientific lines, university will appoint eminent writers, thinkers and Punjabi Teachers as well as renowned scientists of Engineering, Agriculture, Commerce & Management, Physical Education and Education. So that our students get opportunity to interact with their distinguished personalities and learn a lot from them.
Dr. N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor proposed that well known personalities in the field of Punjabi language literature Dr. Dharam Singh (Amritsar), Dr. Narinder Singh Kapoor (Patiala), Prof. Ajmer Singh Aulakh (Mansa), Dr. Atamjit Singh (Mohali), Dr. Waryam Singh Sandhu (Jalandhar) be appointed as Visiting Professor. This proposal was approved by the Board of Management. Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Director (Planning & Development) dwelt upon the achievements of these great personalities. S. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, Chairman declared that a Media Centre will be established in Guru Kashi University where journalists will be imparted training in Mass Communication Technology.
Today Dr. Jaswinder Singh Jodhan, a famous thinker and Punjabi Poet, has joined as Assistant Professor of Punjabi.
