Talwandi Sabo, March 2, 2015: Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering and Technology, a constitute college of Guru Kashi University celebrated “Science Fair 2015” on National Science Day on February 27. The main objective behind this programme was to promote innovation activities in science and engineering among the students. All Engineering departments of GGSCET and various schools from nearby places also participate in the science fair by presenting their science & engineering models. All the projects were a demonstration of innovative ideas in science and engineering field.
About 50 models were displayed in the Science fair from the field of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Applied Science.
Dr. Narinder Singh, Director Campus, Dr. R.K. Bansal, Dean Research and Dr.Amit Tuteja, Deputy Registrar GKU were expert judges to evaluate the models of students on the basis of their concept and presentation. Among the models from the various schools “JCB Machine” of GSS Kot Shamir and “Full Wave Rectifier” of MSD School Raman Mandi were judged as first and second prizes respectively.
The Chairman Gurlabh Singh Sidhu and Dr. N.S. Malhi the Vice Chancellor were the chief guest and they appreciated the students models and encouraged the faculty and students to organise such type a programs regularly to promote innovation ideas.
Dr. B.S. Dhaliwal, Dean Academics and Dr. D. R. Godara, Dean Student Welfare, GKU also visited the fair and appreciated the students for their efforts. Dr. Sandeep Kautish, Principal GGSCET congratulated staff and students for successful conduct of the science fair event.
