Guru Kashi University Celebrates Engineers’ Day


Guru Kashi University at Talwandi sabo celebrates Engineers’ Day on Monday.

Talwandi Sabo, September 15, 2014: In the remembrance of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Guru Kashi University celebrated Engineers’ Day in the Campus. Dr N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor of the University was the chief guest.
The programme started with a devotional song by the B.Tech Students followed by the lamp lightning by the dignitaries. Tributes were paid to the great Engineer, Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya by garlanding his portrait.
Dr N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor stated in his address that Engineers are the shapers of any Country. Because of the legend Engineers and Scientists, India is rapidly moving from developing to developed country. He also added that Guru Kashi University is providing best platform for the student community in the field of Research and Development. He also emphasised on latest curriculum which meets the needs of today’s corporate world.
Five hours long programme coordinated by Prof. Monica Goyal and Er. M.H. Mazumder under the guidance of Prof. Ashwani Sethi, Principal Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering & Technology included technical presentation, project display, ad-mad show and technical quiz.
Projects were displayed on Home Automation, Pre Paid Energy Electric Meters, Animated Air Wings, Electronic Voting Machines, Computerized Street Lights, Water Control and Safety of related devices, Hotel Management System, Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida, Roof Stadium Melbourne, Flyover Bathinda, Windmill Regenerative Cycle, LPG Refrigerator, Water Hydraulic JCB, Green House and fun mania gathered huge crowd.
Apart from the technical events, other events also gathered huge crowd which included Rangoli, Roadies, Poster Making, Computer Games, Group Discussion, Quiz Competition, Creativity Writing, Paper Presentation, Hobby Collection (Technical), Badminton & Chess Competition, which showed the 2nd side of the personality of these engineering students. The whole building of Engineering College and Central Auditorium was full with the Technical & Non Technical students to remember The Great Engineer, built Krishna Sagar Dam & still this Dam is serving the Southern States of India.
On this occasion apart from the others Registrar Satish Goswami, Dean Academics Dr. B.S. Dhaliwal, Controller Examinations Prof. Barjinder Singh Mann, other Deans, Directors, staff and students were present.
