Guru Kashi University celebrates martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev

Talwandi Sabo, March 24, 2014: The College of Basic Science and Humanities of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo celebrated martyrdom day of Shaheed-E-Aazam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Satish Goswami, Registrar Guru Kashi University was chief guest on this occasion. Two students Manpreet Kaur and Manjinder Kaur narrated beautiful poems not only conveying the philosophy of these Martyrs but also attempted to create awareness about their life history. Prof Jagwinder Singh, HoD, Punjabi dwelt upon the achievements, thoughts and significant features of their philosophy so as to enlighten the young generations.
In his keynote addressed, Goswami expressed his anguish on the treatment, that “we are paying to such Martyrs who sacrificed their lives to seek freedom for the country.” He said that we only celebrate such days as a matter of formality which serves no purpose. He made the young students to take oath that they will not only following the footsteps of these Martyrs but will also fight against  social evils like corruption, so that social and economic freedom could be achieved.
