Guru Kashi University Celebrates Teacher’s Day


Teacher’s Day being celebrated at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo on Friday.

Talwandi Sabo, September 5, 2014: As we know that 5th September is celebrated every year as teacher’s day in the whole country, on the same lines it was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm in all the constituent colleges of Guru Kashi University. The eldest teacher of Guru Kashi University Dr Narinder Singh, Director Campus was the chief guest on this occasion.

Dr Ram Niwas, Deputy Dean Basic Sciences & Humanities welcomed all the guests, staff and students. The function was started with God’s blessings by a Shabad Gayan by the students. Chief guest Dr Narinder Singh stated in his address that determination and dedication is one of the most important tools to success. He inspired the students to have some aim while studying in educational institutions. They can make their life beautiful with time management and hard work, he added.

Students performed various cultural activities and sang self written poems and songs dedicated to their teachers. One of the speakers Dr. Jagwinder Singh Jodha, HOD Punjabi spread light on the life of Dr. Radha Krishnan and shared some facts of history related to him. Dr. Radha Krishnan played a pivotal role in the educational policy formation of independent India, he further stated.

Dr. N.S.Malhi, vice Chancellor of GKU lauded the efforts of organizers for conducting such motivational programmes for both teachers and students in the University on the occasions of teacher’s day.

Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, Managing Director said that the teacher is the nation builder and teacher played an important role in the socialisation of the students. The students follow a teacher and a teacher should present him/herself as a role model before the students, he added.

On this occasion apart from the others all the dean, directors, staff and students were present.
