Guru Kashi University signed MOU with national awardee horticulturist

Talwandi Sabo: Jan 20, 2014: University College of Agriculture of Guru Kashi University Talwandi Sabo, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with National Awardee Horticulturist Sukhpal Singh Bhullar of Ghumman Village (Mansa).   

Sukhpal Singh Bhullar bagged various state and National Awards for his progressive horticulture farming. He developed a grading system for oranges & also invented a power sprayer system which can spray upto the height of 25 feet.

Dr. N.S. Malhi Vice Chancellor of GKU exchanged document of MOU with Sukhpal Singh Bhullar in the presence of Dr. J.S. Dhaliwal Chancellor, Gurlabh Singh Sidhu Chairman, Er. Sukhwider Singh Sidhu (General Seceratry) and MD Sukhraj Singh Sidhu. 

On this occasion, Dr. Dhaliwal said that this MOU is 1st of its kind in the nation that any educational institution is signing with the farmer. Chairman Gurlabh Singh Sidhu stated that this MOU will help the students to build up their practical knowledge along with the theoretical part and also provide a sound research platform.

Dr. N.S. Malhi said that this MOU will help the students of B.Sc.Agriculture & M.Sc.  Horticulture sfor their practical training and research projects. He further added that in  near feature MOUs will be signed with the dairy farmers and vegetable growers, which will be helpful in imparting practical skills to the students .GKU experts would provide advisory services to the farmers for upliftment of fruit & other progressive farmers.
