Jalandhar, November 19, 2024: P.C.M.S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the aegis of Guru Nanak Study Center, in collaboration with IQAC, organised a special Guest Lecture on the topic “Significance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Ideology in the Contemporary Social Context”. 

The distinguished speaker for the event was Dr. Maninder Arora, Head, Department of History, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar.

Dr. Arora delivered an insightful discourse on the unparalleled personality of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, emphasizing the timeless relevance of his teachings and Bani. She elaborated on how Guru Ji’s profound philosophy addresses critical social, economic, political, and environmental challenges of the modern world. Highlighting his revolutionary contributions, she underscored his efforts to uphold the rights and dignity of all classes and communities. Guru Ji’s opposition to casteism, social inequality, and hypocrisy, along with his advocacy for love, equality, and environmental preservation, were central themes of her address. She inspired the students to embody Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s principles in their daily lives, particularly emphasizing the need to foster a pollution-free and harmonious environment.

On this occasion, Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other esteemed members of the managing committee and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, lauded the relevance of the topic and the teachings that serve as a guiding light for humanity. They applauded the initiatives of the Guru Nanak Study Center for organizing this enlightening session and emphasized the enduring significance of the sage’a ideology in promoting peace, harmony, and solidarity in society.
