GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS: Baba Seechewal organises Nagar Kirtan

To mark the birth anniversary of first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev, a Nagar Kirtan being taken out by environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal at Sultanpur Lodhi in the Kapurthala district on Wednesday.

Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), November 28, 2012:To mark the birth anniversary of first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev, a Nagar Kirtan was organised by environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, here today.

The Kirtan, which started from Nirmal Kuteya at 7 am, passed through all the historic guruduwaras of Sultanpur Lodhi, concluded at Nirmal Kuteya after nearly six hours.

Thousands of people participated in the Nagar Kirtan, in which Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal blessed the people by signing hymns from Gurbani throughout its time. People have arranged langar in the different bazaars through which the Nagar Kirtan passed. A heavy rush was also seen at multimedia enabled Sikh museum, today.

“The sangat, which reached the town to celebrate the gurupurab were enthusiastically seen enjoying and enriched with the information stored in multimedia Sikh museum,” revealed Seechewal adding that, “Watching the huge turnaround of people, it seems that we have succeeded to achieve our mission by providing glorious Sikh history on a single platform for them.”
