Gyan Ganga Function Held in Doaba College
Doaba College Jalandhar organized Gyan Ganga- 2024@DCJ: Create, Innovate and Celebrate, which was attended by more than 1100 participants from 41 schools. The theme of the event was ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Viksit Bharat’.
Jalandhar, November 7, 2024: Doaba College Jalandhar organized Gyan Ganga- 2024@DCJ: Create, Innovate and Celebrate, which was attended by more than 1100 participants from 41 schools. The theme of the event was ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Viksit Bharat’.
The event began with the lighting of the Knowledge lamp by Chief Guest Dr. Garima Gupta, Scientist F, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Sh. Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, Doaba College Managing Committee-Guest of Honour . After the performance of Ganesh Vandana by Namrata, and Doaba Jai-Gaan, a floral welcome was accorded to all the dignitaries by Principal Pardeep Bhandari, Dr Rajiv Khosla and Prof Navin Joshi -Coordinators, faculty members and students.
Several students namely Neelam, Inderpreet, Vigyan, Mohit and various departments of the college and school gave spectacular performances in the form of Group Dance, Western Dance, Mimicry, Luddi and Bhangra. The dignitaries were then honoured with momentos.
Dr. Garima Gupta, Chief Guest, addressed the students as future of India. She inspired them to participate in these events and get confidence for making future plans. She also motivated them to work with conviction and develop a core value system to walk ethically on their ways to success in life. Dr. Rajiv Khosla said that DBT Star Status of the college promotes scientific interaction and motivates students to be highly placed in prestigious institutions. He also elaborated Let's Learn Campaign, various summer and winter workshops and Learning and Mentoring Programmes running in the College.A video showcasing the glimpses of Gyan Ganga of previous years was displayed during the event.
Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari formally welcomed all and motivated the students in quest of a knowledge economy as it will ensure Viksit Bharat. He also encouraged them to consider such multidisciplinary science fiestas as milestones in life. The session culminated with a vote of thanks by Prof. Naveen Joshi. Rakesh Sharma, Principal, Sain Das School, Sukhdev Lal, Principal, Govt. School, Adampur, Suman Bala, Principal, Govt. Sen Sec School, Lamba Pind, Tanu, Principal PK Memorail School graced the event as Special Guests
This mega event featured various competitions, grouped under diverse streams namely Vigyan Ganga, Tech Ganga, Fun Games, Sanchar Ganga, Edu Ganga, Amrit Ganga, and Shri Ganga to celebrate the spirit of creativity and innovation. Several events such as Vigyan Aadhar : InQUIZitive Buzz, Digi-Collage, Vigyan JAM : Just a Minute, Vigyan Guru, App Pitching Competition: Idea Snapshot WTW : Waste to Wealth, Tech Savy, Online Chess, Radio-ki-Awaz, Reporting, The Handmade Marketplace Challenge and Essay Writing Competition were held. The event culminated with the announcement of results and prize distribution.
