Gyan Ganga organized in Doaba College

Jalandhar, March 7, 2022: Faculty of Sciences of Doaba College Jalandhar organized Gyan Ganga - 2022: Redefining Curiosity, sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India which was attended by more than 900 participants from 24 Schools. The theme of the event was ‘Innovating Science for Self Reliant India ’. The Inaugural Session began with the lighting of Knowledge lamp by Chief Guest Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, Doaba College Managing Committee, Chief Guest Dr. P.K. Sehajpal, Consultant Dyo Biotechnologies, Singapore, S. Harinder Pal Singh, DEO, Sh. Rajiv Joshi, Deputy DEO-Guests of Honour , Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Prof. KK Yadav, Coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Khosla, Organizing Secretary. It was followed by a floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and Principals of various schools.
In his Presidential address Sh. Alok Sondhi highlighted the importance of Curiosity that leads to learning and knowledge. Science impacts our daily lives in every field, he added.
Dr. Pardeep Bhandari formally welcomed all and emphasized on the tradition of deep rootedness in Doaba College. He assured the striving students of all schools to provide them value based education in this College. Dr. Rajiv Khosla, said that India has taken lead in technology for the development of Covaxin and Covishield vaccine against Covid-19. After ceremonies of Token of Honour to the dignitaries, Ganesh Vandana and Doaba Jai Gaan, Dr. P.K. Sehajpal shed light on the fact that decisions are relevant in specific context. He motivated the students to achieve excellence under the guidance of their teachers. After the performance of Bhangra by College students, Tokens of Honour were given to the Guest of Honour, Principals of Schools and the Chief Guest. The Session concluded with the online address of Dr. Garima Gupta, Scientist ‘F’ Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. She appreciated the culture of cross disciplinary talk at Doaba College, Jalandhar. She applauded the efforts of Faculty of Sciences of the college for making sincere & tangible efforts in strengthening the UG Science education and Biotechnology training for students under DBT Star College Status Programme.

On 4th March several events from the four streams such as InQUIZitive Buzz, Vigyan Sketch Pad : Arting Science - Pre-prepared Poster and Rangoli, Vigyan JAM : Just a Minute, Vigyan Guru, Idea Factory : From Concept to Product - Entrepreneurship Potential, WTW : Waste to Wealth, Vigyan Digi Collage, Vigyan Shodh, Vigyan - in - Focus : Photography, Vigyan MOJO, COVID Awareness Campaign, Masala Lab and Flower Decoration were held. Stalls of different Departments were laid out in Open Air Theatre.
