Motive of the competition was to encourage female students to do freelance work

Ludhiana, February 16, 2018: To boost the confidence of female students for self-employment, CT University’s School of Design and Innovation organized ‘The Hairstyling Competition”. They were judged on various perspectives like neatness, innovation and presentation. 20 teams participated from various departments of University.

The students were judged by Sukhpreet Kaur and Jaspreet Singh from ORANE, Jagraon. The winners of the event were Preetika and Rajvinder Kaur from School of Management and Studies whereas the team that stood second was Amanpreet and Arzoo from School of Design and Innovation and third prize was bagged by Simrandeep Kaur and Harshpreet Kaur from School of Design and Innovation.

Geetanjali Kapoor, HOD, School of Design and Innovation said, “The event was to celebrate the talent hidden in women. The girls were so brilliant and they were practically well practiced. It was a great event. We would keep supporting and celebrating the power of women.”

Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Pro Vice Chancellor said, “This competition was to inspire students to work as freelancers in various environments from weddings to movie sets to fashion shows and wherever such professional services are required. CTU will always be having such events.”
