Hardeep Singh Puri launched Nirmal Jal Prayaas on inaugural day of PLUMBEX India
Plumbex India, the nation’s biggest standalone exhibition on Plumbing, Water, and Sanitation Products has kick-started today at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
New Delhi, May 12, 2022: Plumbex India, the nation’s biggest standalone exhibition on Plumbing, Water, and Sanitation Products has kick-started today at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The 3-day event is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and is conducted under the aegis of AMRUT 2.0 and SBM 2.0.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Ministe¬¬r of Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated the event. Singh launched the ‘Nirmal Jal Prayaas’. Through The Nirmal Jal Prayaas, investigates ground water mapping because it is critical to save fossil water/underground water. NAREDCO Mahi's 'Nirmal Jal Prayaas' initiative will disseminate and highlight advocacy, awareness, and amplification for water conservation. NAREDCO MAHI, the organization's women's wing, will sign an MOU with IPA. As part of the agreement, IPA will advise Naredco Mahi on the Nirmal Jal Prayaas to save 500 crore litres of water per year.
It is an initiative for awareness creation for promotion of BIS Certified Water Efficient Plumbing Fixtures under IS 17650, Part 1 and Part 2 which comprises of Low Flow Sanitaryware and Sanitary Fittings which reduce the water dispensation at source, leading to a water saving of minimum 40%. This will in turn result into water saving and energy saving because due to less water required less energy will be required for pumping, transporting and purification.
Gurmeet Singh, President, Indian Plumbing Association said "I am trying to create history. The initiative of these women along with our Vanita Initiatives, will work wonders together. We are all volunteers focused on this cause for not just the current generation but the generations to come."
Speaking on this occasion, Tara Subramaniam, President, NAREDCO Mahi said "Mahi is a river, and we named our Women's Wing Mahi too, because both give life and signify growth. Water depicts calmness but we must not forget water can also cause tsunami. We have to save water, there are no two ways about it."
Dr. Ananta Singh Raghuvanshi, President Elect, NAREDCO Mahi said, "Each drop matters. If every citizen is conscious of saving these precious Meghkamal drops, we are home."
Khair Ull Nissa Sheikh, Vice President, NAREDCO Mahi said, "With Nirmal Jal Prayaas, we seek to bring water to break the cycle of poverty, to protect and save lives, spur system changes at all levels - local, national, and global and to make bright futures possible. Mahi seeks to help solve the global water crisis, removing the financial barriers that stand between people in need and access to safe water and sanitation at home."
